View of Camp-l at the Shoal Harbour gravel
pit. One speeder and five trailers are on the
siding that was installed for our use by the
track crew from Clarenville. The board
fence was erected to help keep blowing
sand out of the mess tent.

Howard Mangold on the left with our camp medic
Enoch Pittman. Before this photo was taken,
Howard, Jerome Young and some others were
returning from an excursion on the hill behind camp
when a large rock came loose and came down and
struck Howard on the side of his head. Jerome
thought he was dead but he came out of it with a
couple of missing teeth and a gash on the side of
his head. Pittman fixed him up.

Norm Simons, our crew chief, is
walking towards Jerome's
camera. I believe Jerome had
part of his finger on the lens.
That is Clarenville station in the
background.
Jerome captured these fish flakes
in the Clarenville area.
