PHOTO  TRIP  TO  FOX  HARBOUR
View of the road to Fox Harbour.
Fox Harbour was approximately 6 or
8 miles from McAndrew AFB. One
Sunday in the spring of 1953, the
base provided a truck for a camera
tour of Fox Harbour.
On our way to Fox Harbour we
came upon this water powered
sawmill. The Newfoundlanders had
dammed a small stream to create a
pond for water power. George
Merritt is facing the camera.

Power for the sawmill was provided
by this water wheel.
