| Before setting up camp in the summer, we set up a Jamesway hut at McAndrew to see how they went together. The huts folded up into the boxes in the foreground. We had such strong gales at McAndrew we used ropes tied to telephone poles to keep it from blowing away. Our barracks is in the background. |

| Generators being uncrated and loaded into trailers for the move to Camp-I at the Shoal Harbour gravel pit and Camp-II at Port Blanford in the coming summer of 1953. A line truck is being used to lift them. |

| Stacking poles with a crane. The rail spur in the background will be used to load rail flat cars to transport the telephone poles out to camp when the winter weather breaks. Poles that were not useable were cut up for rock cribs and dead man anchors. |

| I purchased this Hallicrafters shortwave radio at the PX and we would listen to Halifax, NS, a hillbilly station. The pop- corn popper on the right was sent to me by my folks and we really enjoyed that. The Penn Line mikado locomotive now runs on the Wildcat Railroad. |
