| PADNOS SALVAGE YARD |
| On a Saturday in August, 1991, Randy and I made a visit to the north end of the Padnos salvage yard in Lansing where their spur connected with Conrail. The crew was there with RE 720, an old Alco S1. They offered us a ride while they pushed some empty gons into their salvage yard to be loaded. Of course we could not refuse. These photos record our short trip. |

| In these two photos Conrail 8141 has just arrived at the east end of Ensel yard from Saginaw yard with two gondola loads of scrap from Pandos salvage. The first photo is a west view. The second photo is an east view with the gons sitting on N. Turner St. The brakeman is throwing the turnout for the interchange track with CSX where they will be picked up by CSX.
