Domenick Iacovelli
On this date I received an email from Ike saying, "I am the one standing
on the speeder with my shirt opened." The photo to the left is Ike
standing on the speeder at Camp-I, Shoal Harbour gravel pit,
Newfoundland in 1953. This close up was taken from the photo that
appears in the chapter,
Camp-I, Page-1, on this web site. Ike had
reported to 1stCommunications Construction Squadron back in 1952
when the squadron was still at Griffiss AFB, Rome, N.Y. He and Jerome
Young had attended Installer Cableman School at Francis E. Warren
AFB, Cheyenne, Wyo together prior to reporting to 1st Comm.  Ike sent
me a few photographs taken in Newfoundland and at Francis E. Warren
AFB and they are posted here. He also had a Argus C-3 camera.

Young standing on the pole with an unidentified airman sitting in a cable car. Seals along with Ike
and Jerome will report to 1st Communications Construction Squadron after their training here in the
3450 Technical Training Wing at Francis E. Warren AFB at Cheyenne, Wyo. On this day they are
learning to climb into a cable car after climbing the pole with their climbers. The cable car was used
for riding the messenger strand.
